Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 October 2023, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Jasur Karshibayev met with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The meeting was attended by Head of the Public Debt Attraction Division of the Public Debt Department Bekhruz Karimov, Head of the Division for Cooperation with IFIs and International Organizations of the International Cooperation Department Ibragimov Bekzod, Deputy Head of the Green Economy Development Department Islamov Shokhzod, and on the guest side, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Uzbekistan Kanokpan Lao-Araya, Senior Economics Officer of ADB in Uzbekistan Bekzod Jalilov, and  Senior Private Sector Development Officer of the ADB Office in Uzbekistan Adkhamjon Kuchkarov.

The meeting focused on issues related to current and future projects, including regulation and financial sustainability of the energy sector. It also discussed the development of public-private partnerships, programs to improve the conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the prospects for developing a green economy. The questions raised included analyzing and developing strategies to achieve sustainable development and environmental sustainability in line with the global challenge of climate change.

The participants of the meeting highly appreciated the potential of cooperation in these areas and expressed readiness for further implementation of the discussed projects.
