Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 October 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Khaydarov met with Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.
Minister Uno praised the organization of the World Conference on Creative Economy in Tashkent, highlighting its importance as a platform for addressing the social and economic challenges brought by rapid technological advancements and the role of creative industries in shaping a sustainable future.
The discussions focused on further strengthening Uzbekistan-Indonesia relations and exploring potential areas for cooperation. Both sides expressed interest in enhancing political dialogue, expanding business exchanges, and sharing experiences in the halal industry and creative economy.
Uno also noted the opening of “Sukarno Park” in Samarkand in September as a significant step in fostering friendly ties between the two nations.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of boosting tourism exchanges, particularly in the field of ziyarat (pilgrimage) tourism, and explored practical steps for implementing joint projects in this area.
