Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 10 to 12 September 2024, Uzbekistan hosted the 78th session of the Wagon Economy Commission of the Council for Railway Transport Administrations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The event saw participation from over 120 representatives from more than 15 CIS countries and other states. Key issues concerning the wagon industry were discussed during the meeting.

Topics addressed included ensuring safety in movement, improving the quality of repairs for freight and passenger wagons, and optimizing routes for innovative freight wagons. Discussions also covered the updating of the wagon fleet and amendments to technical regulatory documents.

Commission members reviewed the forward-looking plans of JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yullari," which contribute to the development of the new Uzbekistan, and assessed the progress made so far. Joint actions for further planning were also discussed.

The meeting marked an important step towards enhancing cooperation among participating states and strengthening integration in the railway transport sector. Representatives from various countries expressed their readiness for collaborative work and exchange of experience, which supports the improvement of transportation conditions and the overall development of the railway industry.
