Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Samarkand International Technological University (SIUT) hosted an inspiring meeting between students and prominent scientists of Uzbekistan. On 18 January, within the framework of the WIN-center, academician Negmatulla Abdullaevich Muminov shared his extensive experience and knowledge with the younger generation.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between SIUT and the Tashkent Association of Defectologists, led by L.R. Muminova. The agreement outlines joint projects in the field of inclusive education, the development of social programs for Samarkand and Tashkent, as well as conducting scientific research with the implementation of results into the educational process.
Academician Muminov, a renowned cyberneticist, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and member of four foreign academies, shared his scientific journey with the students, including his years of study in Russia and the importance of leadership qualities in a scientific career. The meeting took the form of a lively dialogue, with students actively asking questions and discussing the prospects for the development of digital technologies, robotics, and production processes.
A joint work by Academician Muminov and research fellow of the Institute of Energy and Automation of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Abdusapi Ganiev, was also presented at the meeting – the book "Criterion - Devotion" ("Mezon – Fidoiylik") which tells the story of students from Central Asia who studied in Russia during the 1950s-1980s. The book is filled with inspiring success stories of outstanding individuals such as Hero of Uzbekistan Ibrahim Gafurov, academicians Vasil Kobulov, Habib Abdullaev, Muhammadjon Urazboev, Hamid Sulaymonov, and others.
In the afternoon, as part of the "Student Girls Club," female students of SIUT met with Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lola Rahimovna Muminova, and Dilbar Khasanovna Aslanova. The meeting focused on the role of women in science in Uzbekistan and the importance of creating favorable conditions for their professional growth. The students received valuable advice on developing the necessary skills for a successful scientific career and discussed strategies for overcoming gender stereotypes.
Lola Muminova, Director of Scientific Work at the Republican Center for the Social Adaptation of Children, is recognized for her achievements in pedagogy and working with children with developmental disabilities. Her scientific contributions were acknowledged by the title "Honored Mentor of Youth of the Republic of Uzbekistan" (2018) and the "Best Scientist of the Year" award from the international scientific publication Science & Innovation (2024).
The meetings at SIUT serve as a vibrant example of intergenerational dialogue and underscore the importance of supporting young scientists in Uzbekistan. They inspired students to strive for new achievements in science and technology.
