Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place at the Ministry of Economy and Finance between Samandar Sadullaev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, and Helen Carlsson Rex, Manager for Social Sustainability and Inclusion at the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia.
During the discussion, the participants reviewed the implementation of the Rural Infrastructure Development Project (RIDP) Phase 1 and Phase 2. Special attention was given to harmonizing activities aimed at effective design and construction of facilities within the project. The parties noted significant progress achieved under the RIDP.
The goal of this project is to improve the quality of essential social infrastructure facilities and related services to ensure the well-being of the population in the villages covered by the project, enhance the local governance system with community involvement in assessing the primary needs of their neighborhoods, and engage in decision-making regarding further development.
Additionally, the participants highlighted the preparation for a new phase that includes expanding geographical coverage and introducing new components. These changes aim to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of infrastructure projects, which in turn will contribute to the social and economic development of the regions.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed confidence in the continued active dialogue and productive collaboration aimed at achieving common goals and strengthening strategic partnerships.
