Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 5 December 2024, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, Ahmad Farooq.

During the conversation, both sides noted the stable dynamics in the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, as well as the active cooperation within international and regional organizations.

The importance of implementing high-level agreements was emphasized, with a key role for parliaments in their realization.

Particular attention was given to strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, which are considered an essential tool for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in priority areas such as trade, economy, investment, transport, and tourism.

It was highlighted that the successful implementation of joint projects in these fields would contribute to the development of economic ties and increase mutual trade turnover.

The issue of organizing joint cultural events, which help strengthen friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries and promote their rich historical and cultural heritage, was also addressed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence in the continued development of Uzbek-Pakistani cooperation and the active realization of planned initiatives for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
