Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Alisher Temirov, Director of the Pharmaceutical Safety Center, met with a delegation led by Zahid Hamdullah, head of Afghanistan’s Food and Drug Administration (AFDA).
AFDA is Afghanistan’s state agency responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of food and pharmaceutical products. Its primary goal is to prevent harmful products from reaching the market and to safeguard public health.
During the meeting, Alisher Temirov outlined the registration and certification processes for pharmaceutical products in Uzbekistan, along with quality control mechanisms for medicines. Zahid Hamdullah praised the quality of pharmaceuticals exported from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of collaboration in combating the illegal trade of pharmaceutical products.
The Afghan delegation also received detailed explanations about Uzbekistan’s experience in pharmaceutical regulation. Discussions included reference pricing systems, laboratory quality control methods, and the implementation of international standards.
