Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia is ready to cooperate with the United States on Afghanistan and help with the transit of non-military supplies, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday.

"This must be a fully fledged and equal partnership," Medvedev told a news conference in Tashkent where he met Uzbek President Islam Karimov.

Karimov said he feared rising tensions in Pakistan could trigger unrest in Central Asia. "Radicals may be reinvigorated by the recent events in Pakistan," he said.
