The message said that the agreement has basic importance for further dynamic development of multipronged Russian-Uzbek relations. The agreement is based on firm traditional friendly good-neighborhood, common mood to promote strategic partnership on principles of equality and mutual respect, the massage said.
Russian head noted that continuation of active political dialogue in all levels, joint work on implementation of clauses of the agreement will help to fill bilateral agenda with new wide-scale projects in economic and humanitarian spheres, construction interaction of the countries within the various organizations, effective coordination in regional and international affairs.
“I am sure that gradual course of construction of allied relations meet basic interests of citizens of Russia and Uzbekistan, common tasks on strengthening stability and security in Central Asia,” Medvedev underlined.
The agreement on allied relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan was inked on 14 November 2005 during the visit of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov to Moscow.
