Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 September, Istanbul (Turkey) hosted the 7th Meeting o the OIC/COMCEC Private Sector Tourism Forum “Prospects for the development of health tourism in the OIC member states”.

It was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey and the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC).

The forum was attended by representatives from 47 countries. Uzbekistan delegation was attended by representatives of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development and DMC clinic.

At the event, representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development made presentations about the potential of medical tourism in Uzbekistan, benefits and preferences in this area, as well as the natural potential of the country’s regions and its health benefits.

Participants of the event noted the capabilities of Uzbekistan medical clinics – the professionalism of doctors, the availability of modern medical equipment in the clinic, as well as an acceptable price for medical services. During the discussions, it was noted that in the near future, Uzbekistan could become one of the leading players in this industry in Central Asia.

Following the forum, participants exchanged experience with representatives of OIC countries in development of medical tourism, opinions on creating mutually beneficial projects that will be successful in the near future.
