Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A media event “Uzbekistan and Japan on the Great Silk Road” ended in Tokyo.

More than 230 representatives of government bodies, scientific and research circles, the public, and media from Japan took part in this event. Its bright, final chord was a gala evening at the Tokyo Imperial Hotel.

The program of the evening media event included the presentation of two documentaries - “Silk Strings” and “The Magic of Uzbek Dance”, a performance by the dutarist of one of the winners of the Shosh Makom international contest held in Shakhrizyabz in 2018, Masha Komazaki and Uzbek dance performer Aiko Takuchi.

The Japanese guests danced tirelessly to the fiery Uzbek music, fascinatedly watched the dances of the Uzbek dancers and were delighted with the traditional Uzbek dish - pilaf.

“It is through national customs and gastronomic traditions that one can most fully recognize the culture of another country. I am pleased to note that the ancient and richest culture of Uzbekistan unites all the guests of today’s event. It is of particular importance as a demonstration of the reforms carried out by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at broad international cooperation in various spheres of public life, the desire to popularize and present the richest traditions of Uzbek culture in the international arena, ”said the chairman of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Firdavs Abdukhalikov.

Last evening was preceded by a series of events and events.

This is the international scientific conference "Uzbekistan and Japan on the Silk Road", the opening of an exhibition about the researcher, Japanese archaeologist Kato Kyuzo.

In addition, a book on the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in Japanese collections was presented as part of the media event - the Shoshoin Imperial Treasury, the Miho Museum, the Yokohama Museum of Eurasian Cultures, the Ryukoku Museum, the Tenri Sankokan Museum at the University of Tenri, the Middle East Museum of Art in Okayama and Hiroshima Prefectural Museum of Art.

A master class on painting traditional Rishtan ceramics was also held by S. Yusupov, academician of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan. In Uzbekistan, this amazing person is called Paganini from Rishtan.

The participants of the media event expressed hope for the continuation of the scientific and cultural exchange, and shared their views on the cultural event.

“In April 2019, the rectors of 13 Japanese universities visited Uzbekistan and held a scientific council,” said Nakamura Hiroyuki, a deputy in the lower house of the Japanese parliament. - I, as a representative of a scientific and technical university, made the head of the delegation, and in Uzbekistan we had a very warm welcome. Then we received an application about the need to provide a specialist in kendo - the Japanese art of sword possession. From this moment we began a practical exchange in the scientific and cultural sphere with Uzbek educational institutions. I believe that the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan will serve to strengthen and further develop relations between the two countries, including in the humanitarian sphere.
