ME&CA Huawei “Seeds for the Future 2024” to be held in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Huawei announced that Middle East and Central Asia Seeds for the Future educational program will be held in Uzbekistan in 2024. The project will bring together young talents from more than 15 countries in the region.

Ministry of digital technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Association of IT-education held “IT Star” event to award outstanding IT ladies of Uzbekistan. Participant of Seeds for the Future 2023, which became one of the top Seeds for the Future Global Ambassadors 2024 - Nodira Otabekova was praised during the event. Last year Nodira Otabekova headed Tech4Good team “TechnoMinds” during ME&CA Seeds for the Future 2023 in Qatar and UAE. The team became Regional Champion of ‘Tech4Good” and gained Silver Award and People’s Choice Award in the Global Finals. 

Nodira Otabekova shared her experience of participation in the global Seeds for the Future program, including working on Tech4Good project “Aquatibia”, visit to Qatar and UAE, participation in COP28, and plans to visit China next month. “Seeds for the Future opens up endless opportunities for young ICT talent. Last year, the program united 175 students from 15 countries in the Middle East and Central Asia region in Qatar, allowing us to explore innovative technologies, develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills, and build connections with members of the ICT community in other countries. It was an incredible experience that left the most vivid memories,” - Nodira shared. - And today, being Seeds for the Future Global Ambassador, let me proudly announce that this year regional program will be held in Uzbekistan."

Regional Seeds for the Future 2024 program for Middle East and Central Asia countries will be held in Uzbekistan in August 2024. It will be a week-long internship which includes study of advanced technologies and solutions, number of events with the leading experts, cross-cultural exchange, discover of Uzbekistan, and annual participation in Tech4Good contest. 

“Last year, students from Uzbekistan demonstrated incredible achievements during the program, it confirms the growing interest to ICT technologies among young people and the importance of the work done by the Ministry of Digital Technologies and all participants in the IT education development ecosystem. By choosing Uzbekistan as the host country, Huawei will take all the efforts to hold the event at the highest level and contribute to enhancing the digital skills of young talents in the whole Middle East and Central Asia, as well as supporting the development of Digital Uzbekistan”, - General Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan Chen Jiakai said.

Huawei has been operating in Uzbekistan for 25 years, working closely with telecom operators, public sector, industries and educational institutions. Seeds for the Future for Uzbekistan students has been running for 10 years. 

"Seeds for the Future" is Huawei’s flagship global educational program, carried out as part of its corporate social responsibility. Since its launch in 2008, the program has enrolled more than 18,000 students from 141 countries. In previous years, 50 students from Uzbekistan passed internship under the program in China, 82 students took part in the online version of the program during pandemic in 2020 – 2022. In 2017, 4 participants of the “Seeds for the Future” project from Uzbekistan took part in the international summit “One Belt, One Road” in Beijing.
