Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The leading international exhibition of the furniture and woodworking industry of Uzbekistan is returning after a two-year break and will deploy its 17th exposition from 27 to 29 May at the Uzexpocentre NEC, in the city of Tashkent.

Uzbekistan is the largest consumer market in the Central Asian region with a population of more than 34.5 million people. The furniture and woodworking industry of the country is among the most dynamically developing sectors of the economy, which mainly involve small and medium-sized businesses. 

The growing pace of construction of residential and commercial real estate leads to an increase in the need for furniture. The purchasing power of the population of Uzbekistan is growing every year, and with it the demand for the purchase of high-quality products. Modern trends dictate noteworthy innovations that do not bypass domestic manufacturers. Today, about 90% of the total market capacity is satisfied by domestic products. Currently, there are about 5,300 enterprises for the production of furniture, chipboard, component materials and woodworking enterprises in the republic, and more than 300 thousand people are employed in the production of furniture products. Furniture in the market of Uzbekistan is presented in various price segments and styles and from various materials. Over the past 7 years, the range of products has significantly expanded, quality and design have improved in accordance with global trends.

Thanks to the creation of a large number of small enterprises in the market, fierce competition was formed, which stimulated the deepening of the introduction of advanced technologies in production and its further modernisation. To a large extent, the state support measures has contributed to the achievement of high production growth rates:

optimisation of customs payments for the main types of equipment, raw materials and materials used in the production of furniture products;

provision of tax incentives and preferences for producers of consumer goods and small businesses.

Over the past 17 years, the MebelExpo Uzbekistan International Exhibition has become the main event of the International class, thanks to which the potential of the country’s furniture industry is growing from year to year. Along with the latest innovations in the industry, the universal industry exhibition MebelExpo Uzbekistan keeps pace with the times. This event allows furniture manufacturers to gain access to the latest technologies in the field of woodworking and raw materials for their business, and the consumer can purchase high-quality furniture products.

This year, MebelExpo Uzbekistan returns again in the usual offline format and will become the first professional industry show of the furniture industry after a long pause due to the pandemic. More than 70 companies from 12 countries of the world have confirmed their participation, including: Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

As part of the collective exposition of the Export Support Centre of the Ulyanovsk Oblast, five companies will present finished furniture products and components.

Nine Turkish manufacturers of woodworking machines, abrasive materials, adhesive and paint products to attend exhibition with traditional national participation.

A visitor will find everything for the production of furniture at MebelExpo Uzbekistan: woodworking and laser machines, tools, adhesives, lacquers, paints, plate products, furniture components and accessories, upholstery materials, furniture fillers and many more. In addition to products for production, the exhibition presents ready-made furniture for home and office, as well as household appliances and kitchen filler panels.

Technological innovations, woodworking equipment and tools will be presented by industry leaders such as ARHAR ENGINEERING (Slovenia), SCM GROUP (Italy), FELDER KG (Austria), ATLAS ZIMPARA, AYZA MIZRAK, ROBART MAKINA (Turkey), STANKOGROUP / JET, LIGA (Russia) and others. The sector of furniture accessories and raw materials will be represented by JULIUS BLUM GMBH (Germany), ATTIMEC (Italy), HAFELE (Germany), ADILET (Russia), ZAMIN DÉCOR, KHAT DÉCOR, SABINA S, WOODMAN GROUP, FOAMLINE, HIGOLD (Uzbekistan) and many others. The furniture chemistry sector is widely represented at the exhibition. Among the exhibitors are HELIOS GROUP (Slovenia), KAYALAR KIMYA, BETEK BOYA, POLCHEM, ESKIM KIMYA (Turkey).

The most popular sector for consumers – ready-made furniture products and household appliances, this year again to gather the latest novelties of the season and furniture trends, which will be presented by INCANTO, KISS, LEONIS, SIMBIRSK LIDER, NAIDY (Russia), CHINAR, MAGIYA DEREVA (Uzbekistan), LINA (Kyrgyzstan) and others. Bright novelties in the household appliances sector to be prepared by representatives of well-known companies HOFMANN and GOODWELL (China).

According to the experience of regular exhibitors, MebelExpo Uzbekistan is a key event for furniture makers in Uzbekistan and foreign manufacturers who want to enter a new promising market. 

The event will be held in strict compliance with all the norms and requirements established by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Special Republican Commission for Combating Coronavirus, as well as the standards developed by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).
