Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law introducing amendments to several legislative acts.

According to the amendments to the Law "On Normative Legal Acts," projects related to the provision of state aid now require approval from the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection.

Additionally, the Law "On Competition" has been amended to specify that the primary activity of an economic entity will determine its status as a natural monopoly entity.

To liberalize the penalty system, changes have been made to exclude financial sanctions against economic entities that have committed a first-time violation of competition legislation if the violation has a low economic impact.

The law comes into effect from the day of its official publication.
