Maxam-Chirchiq OJSC decides to pay dividends for 2009
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Shareholders of Maxam-Chirchiq open joint stock company adopted decision on payment of dividends in 2009. The company distributed 1.562 billion soums of net income.

In line with the decision, the company will pay dividends for 1.171 billion soums. The size of dividend is 1,599 soums per share. Total number of shares, on which the company will pay dividends, makes up 2,499,618.

Uzkimyosanoat state joint stock company will receive 597.661 million soums and Spain’s MaxamCorp International S.L.U. will get 574.223 million soums. Uzkimyosanoat possesses 51% stake at the enterprise, while МахамCorp International S.L.U. owns 49% shares.

Shareholders directed 78.125 million soums (5% of net income) to reserve fund, 15.625 million soums (1% of net income) to Fund on Modernization and New Technologies and 15.625 million (1%) to Fund of Labour Protection and Security, as well as 281.252 million soums (18%) to development of production.

As earlier reported, net income of Maxam-Chirchiq decreased from 21.943 billion soums in 2008 to 3.052 billion soums in 2009.

Maxam-Chirchiq OJSC, former Elektrohimprom, was commissioned in 1940 and specializes on production of ammonia, ammonium nitrate, and carbamide. MaxamCorp S.A.U. purchased 49% stake at Elektrohimprom for US$22 million in 2007. The company undertook obligation to invest US$55 million in next five years. The charter capital of the company is 24.996 billion soums.

Maxam-Chirchiq is a leading chemical enterprise in Uzbekistan, which produces 30 types of goods. The company realizes its products in internal market and exports to the countries of the CIS, European Union, USA, Latin America, and Australia.
