Mandatory three-year service abolished for public sector students in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Presidential Decree “On improving the system of admission to higher educational organizations and placing state orders”, from the 2024/2025 academic year, students of higher educational organizations will a state grant will be allocated in the form of a social incentive grant and an educational grant. 

Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, an educational grant will be allocated to students accepted for undergraduate and graduate studies for one academic year. 

Wherein:

- an educational grant will be allocated to first-year students who score high on entrance exams in accordance with the state order quota allocated to higher educational organizations;

- the educational grant in the second and subsequent years will be redistributed by the university in a differentiated manner among students who have achieved high academic rating indicators and have demonstrated social activity;

- the educational grant will be financed in a differentiated manner, and the scholarship will be paid only to students who have won a full educational grant;

- students who are holders of a social incentive grant will be provided with a state grant in full for the period of their studies;

- for students who studied on the basis of an educational grant, the obligation to work for at least 3 years after graduation will be canceled.
