MAN Nutzfahrzeuge, Uzavtosanoat create venture in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG (Germany) and Uzavtosanoat (Uzbek Auto Industry) joint-stock company founded a joint venture on assembling vehicles in Samarkand.

Charter capital of JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan is 3 million euros. Uzavtosanoat holds 51% share in the joint venture and MAN possesses 49% share.

The venture will assemble city buses and special vehicles for heating and electricity industry and metallurgy - dump-body truck, tractors, truck crane and platforms for drilling equipment.

It is expected that the venture will start to assembly vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2009. JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan will produce 10 units of vehicles in 2009, while the figure will reach 100 units by the end of 2012.

Currently, Samarkand Vehicle Plant (SamAuto) produces buses and lorries. SamAuto was founded in November 2006. Japan’s Isuzu purchased 8% in SamAvto in May 2007. The plant produces lorries with load capacity of 4-18 tonnes and buses with capacity of 37 people.
