Malaysian Five Petroleum shows interest in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 February, the Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with the Executive Director of the Malaysian company Five Petroleum, Lim Chin Fui.

Founded in 2020, Five Petroleum Malaysia operates a network of more than 110 gas stations across the country and holds a 60% stake in BHPetrol, which owns over 400 gas stations.

During the discussions, the parties reviewed the implementation of agreements made during the high-level visit to Malaysia on February 4–5 and explored potential areas for collaboration, including projects in the energy and mining sectors.

Both sides expressed mutual confidence that attracting the expertise and investment of Five Petroleum Corporation to Uzbekistan would enhance the quality of work in these industries and serve as another successful example for Malaysian and other foreign investors.

The company’s leadership highly appreciated the business climate in the country and expressed interest in continuing cooperation on new promising projects. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on the format for further cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the discussed initiatives.
