Malaysia hosts International Festival “National Day of Craftsmen”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan is represented at the 18th International Festival National Craft Day - 2020, which is taking place these days in the capital of Malaysia, Dunyo news agency reported.

The annual National Craft Day is recognized as the largest handicraft promotion event in Malaysia. Its main goal is the promotion of Malaysian art and culture at the international level, the development of tourism and business in this area, the wide display of products of ancient and modern folk art.

The festival exhibits handicraft art by more than 300 masters from Southeast Asia. Among the participants - Uzbekistan. The event is widely represented products from textiles, metal, wood, ceramics and others. At the same time, visitors have a unique opportunity to manufacture their handicraft products.

Of great interest to visitors of National Craft Day 2020 was the products of the Uzbek artisan Mirmahsud Mirrahimbaev. The guests were presented with a wide assortment of handmade wood products, in particular miniatures on caskets, pencil cases, paintings, creepers and book stands (lavas), which differ in their original style and manufacturing technique.

Along with this, Uzbek masters demonstrate the rich potential of folk arts and crafts and the unique cultural heritage of the republic. He also held a master class for Malaysian schoolchildren, visually familiarizing himself with the technique of applying patterns and wood carvings.
