Within the localization to Uzbek language, the company translated interface of its email service Mail.ru. Mobile version of Odnoklassniki was translated into Uzbekistan. By the mid of 2012, the website will be fully localized into Uzbek.
According to the Internet World Stats, number of Internet users in Uzbekistan makes up over 7.5 million, or 26.8% of population of the country and this figure is growing. Launch of social network and email in Uzbek will allow them to communicate in their mother language.
Ilya Shirokov, vice president of Mail.Ru Group and head of social networks division, said that the company, the company seriously started work on localization of Odnoklassniki. He said that priorities for localization are such countries as Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Moldavia, and Georgia.
Anna Artamonova, vice president of Mail.Ru Group on strategic projects, stated that email service is on the fourth place on daily auditory in the world and the company tries to provide services to users in their own language. She said that popularity of Mail.ru in Uzbekistan is a key factor, for which it entered to priority direction for the company.
