Lukoil to invest US$480m to Uzbek gas fields in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Russian oil and gas company Lukoil will invest US$480 million to developing gas fields in Uzbekistan in 2010, Russian Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov said in Tashkent.
Sergei Ivanov arrived in the Uzbek capital to attend the 12th session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
He said Lukoil undertook obligation to invest US$480 million to extraction and exploration of gas fields in Uzbekistan in 2010. Russian official said that investments of Russian companies exceeded several billion US dollars in last several years.
Lukoil develops several projects in Uzbekistan. The company invested over US$5.5 billion (including inflation) into Uzbekistan, which makes it one of the largest investors in Uzbekistan.
