Lukoil to increase gas production in Uzbekistan to 8.2bn cubic meters in 2015
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Lukoil, second largest oil producer of Russia, is planning to double gas production in Uzbekistan from 4.2 billion cubic meters in 2012 to 8.2 billion cubic meters in 2015.

The company said that it is planning to produce 4.4 billion cubic meters of gas in Uzbekistan in 2013 and 5.2 billion cubic meters in 2014.

Lukoil underlined that it increased gas production within its projects in Uzbekistan by 73% in the third quarter of 2012.

Expected growth of EBITDA from growth of gas production in Uzbekistan will make up US$800 million in 2013-2015.

Lukoil oil company is the largest foreign investor in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The overall accumulated volume of the company’s investments in the Uzbek economy has comprised nearly US$2.5 since 2004, including over US$120 million in – geological exploration.

The total investments of Lukoil are expected to exceed US$8 billion for the whole period of implementation of current large-scale projects in the country. The projects are being realized by Lukoil Uzbekistan Operating Company LLC, a subsidiary of LUKOIL Overseas Holding Ltd.

Lukoil is planning to increase gas production up to 2021 due to implementation of its projects in Uzbekistan, especially projects “Khauzak-Shady-Kandym-Kungrad” and Gissar. It is planned to lauch Kandym gas processing plant to process gas from these fields.
