Lukoil starts advance drilling in Adamtash deposit in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Lukoil, Russian oil company, began advanced drilling of gas wells at Adamtash deposit in Southern-western Gissar. The company plans to extract natural gas in 2012.

According to the company, Lukoil increased extraction of gas on international projects in 2009 by 1% year-on-year to 4.2 billion cubic meters, of which 53% fell to share of Kandym-Khauzak-Shady project in Uzbekistan.

The company extracted 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas at Kandym-Khauzak-Shady project area. The company traded gas from this deposit at the price of US$190 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Lukoil acquired SNG Holdings Ltd., including Soyuzneftegaz Vostok Limited, participant of the product-sharing agreement (PSA) on development of southern-western Gissar and Ustyurt region in Uzbekistan. The sum of the deal was US$580 million.

Uzbekneftegaz is authorized state body within the agreement. The PSA was inked on 23 January 2007 with the term of 36 years. It entered into force on 23 April 2007. Lukoil is also implementing PSA in Uzbekistan on Kandym-Khauzak-Shady project, which was inked in 2004 with the term of 35 years. The PSA participants are Lukoil (90%) and Uzbekneftegaz (10%). The company plans to extract 15 billion cubic meters of gas within these two projects and invest US$5.5 billion.
