Lukoil may produce 2.7 bcm of gas at Uzbek field in 2009

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian oil major Lukoil may produce about 2.7 billion cubic meters at Uzbekistan’s Khauzak field in 2009, the company’s President Vagit Alekperov said Tuesday in an interview on TV channel Bloomberg.

Lukoil launched production at the Khauzak field in late 2007. Alekperov didn’t say how much gas was produced at the field in 2008.

Development of the Khauzak field is part of the Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad gas project, in which Lukoil holds a 90% stake and Uzbek national holding company Uzbekneftegaz holds a 10% stake. Lukoil projects annual gas production within this project at about 11 billion cubic meters.
