Third Regional Conference of Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership was organized by Uzbekneftegaz national holding company, World Bank and the Global Gas Flaring Reduction (GGFR) Partnership. Lukoil became one of the sponsors of the event.

Lukoil Uzbekistan operates in Uzbekistan with the product sharing agreements on Kandym, Khauzak-Shady and Kungrad, as well as Southern-Western Gissar and Ustyurt region. Main objects are located in Bukhara region and Kashkadarya regions of Uzbekistan, Lukoil Uzbekistan said.

Yevgeniy Makarov delivered a report “Priority directions of nature protection of Lukoil Uzbekistan Operating Company. The report covered policy of the company in industrial security, labour and environment protection, integrated system on management of industrial and ecologic security, ecologic monitoring, etc.

The report noted that the company organized regular control over adhering to ecologic protection requirements. In cooperation with the State Committee on nature protection of Uzbekistan the company conducts ecologic monitoring at all objects.

For example, at Khauzak field the company constructed a yard on utilization of drilling waste. Here the company constructed complex on collection, storage and utilization of drilling waste and oil containing sludge with the capacity of 12,000 tonnes a year.

Besides, in this field the company constructed a complex on cleaning sewage water with the capacity of 360 cubic meters of water a day, which includes system of cleaning industrial sewage, systems of cleaning domestic sewage, moistureproof evaporator pond, and others.

Currently, the company constructs the complex on utilization of industrial sewage. Lukoil Uzbekistan was the first company to receive corresponding license.

At Gissar field, the company constructed modern complex on collection, preparation and shipment of oil. In 2009-2011, the company fully reconstructed objects, including system on cleaning industrial sewage, system of utilization of associated petroleum gas, etc.

The company has received ecologic certificates at process of oil mining at Southern Kyzylbayrak and Qoshquduq in line with the legislation of Uzbekistan.

Speaking about activity of Lukoil Uzbekistan in ecologic security, Yevgeniy Makarov said that the aspects of impact to environment do not exceed set norms. The coefficient of accidents frequency with ecologic consequences is equal to zero. There have been no incidents and accidents with ecologic consequences during the company’s activities in Uzbekistan (2004-2011).

In 2012, the company successfully underwent current certification ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 at all production processes of Lukoil. The company received the first place in the completion on environment protection for 2008, 2010-2011 within the projects of Lukoil Overseas Holding Ltd.
