Louvre restorers studied the restoration of museum exhibits from Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the exhibition “The splendor of the oases of Uzbekistan. At the crossroads of caravan routes” at the Louvre Museum, organized by the Art and Culture  Development Foundation, a round table was held on the restoration of museum exhibits from Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by the restorers of the Louvre, who from 2019 to 2022, especially for the exhibition, restored more than 70 rare items of ceramics, wood, metal, wall paintings and paper.

In the course of the work, the restorers discovered the amazing technique and materials of various objects created in ancient times by civilizations that existed on the territory of modern Uzbekistan.

The restorers shared details about the stages of restoration and conservation of the exhibits, and also spoke about their joint work with Uzbek specialists.

The round table was attended by sculpture restorer Anne Liege, wood restorer Delphine Lefebvre, metal restorer Christine Parisel, mural restorer Geraldine Fry and paper restorer Axel Delay.
