London-2012: Elshod Rasulov’s medal hopes ends
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Captain of Uzbekistan boxing team Elshod Rasulov failed to qualify to semifinals of boxing tournament in weight category of 81 kg and lost chance to win medals of Olympics.
In the quarterfinal bout, Elshod Rasulov faced Russian Egor Mekhontsev. Rasulov won the first round with the score 5-4. Russian claimed the second and third rounds with the score 6-4 and 9-5 respectively.
Egor Mekhontsev won the bout with the overall score 19-15 to end Elshod Rasulov’s medal hopes.
Abbos Atoev won only medal for Uzbekistan in the weight category of 75 kg. He advanced to semifinals to ensure at least bronze medal.
