Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Locusts have been reported to spread in certain areas of the Bukhara region, according to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The alert about the locust infestation was received by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Bukhara region. In response to the notification, personnel from the directorate, specialists from the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency, and representatives from relevant organizations were dispatched to the affected areas.

In the affected districts, agricultural lands were promptly treated with chemical spraying using 15 units of specialized equipment.

As noted, the situation with the harmful insects is currently under full control by the competent authorities, and all necessary measures are being taken to prevent their further spread.
