Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 November, Tashkent hosted the International Forum "LIVESTOCK: INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES."
This key event in Uzbekistan’s livestock sector brought together leaders of global companies, experts, animal husbandry specialists, veterinarians, and other professionals.
The forum provided an opportunity for experience exchange, signing cooperation agreements in the fields of investment and innovation, as well as establishing new contacts. Participants included both foreign companies (AGROFEED, Hungary; Ferment, Belarus; AGROFEED RUS, Russia, etc.) and local producers.
Uzbekistan has been actively developing livestock farming, increasing production, and expanding the range of products. Livestock farming accounted for 48.2% of agriculture. In recent years, there has been growth in the number of cattle and sheep, as well as milk production. However, Uzbekistan remained a net importer of livestock products.
The government’s plans for the period until 2026 include a significant increase in milk, beef, and mutton production, boosting the share of high-yielding livestock, and improving technologies. The forum aimed to discuss and find solutions for implementing innovations, modernizing production, and addressing challenges in the livestock industry.
During the forum, cooperation agreements and memoranda were signed between local and foreign companies.
