Foreign Minister of Lithuania Petras Vaitiekunas met the Speaker of Legislative Chamber (lower house) of the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of Uzbekistan Erkin Halilov on 20 April.

The sides noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Lithuania are gradually expanding, including in parliamentarism sphere.

Mr Vaitiekunas said the cooperation between states today is gradually strengthening in political, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres. Lithuania is interested in these relations, in particular in transport communication. He added that the sides have great opportunity.

The sides also exchanged opinion on current affairs and perspectives of parliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Lithuania.

Foreign Minister of Lithuania Petras Vaitiekunas also met his Uzbek counterpart Vladimir Norov.

The delegation of Lithuania visited State Museum of Temurids’ History and acquainted with exposition on Amir Temur and his descendants.
