List of Products for Mandatory Exchange Trading Expanded in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has expanded the list of products that may only be sold on the domestic market through exchange trading. The decision, outlined in Resolution No. 220 dated 11 April 2025, is aimed at introducing modern mechanisms of exchange trading and preventing unjustified price fluctuations.
Currently, more than 45 types of highly liquid and monopolized products are sold via exchange platforms. This approach helps create equal conditions for market participants, ensures transparency in transactions, prevents artificial price dumping, and serves as an effective tool against the shadow economy.
According to the resolution, starting from 15 July 2025, products produced by monopolistic enterprises, legal entities with at least 50% state ownership, and companies with more than ten legal entities in their charter capital must be sold through exchange trading.
The updated list includes hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sodium cyanide, sodium hypochlorite, liquid nitrogen, liquid chlorine, zinc white, ferromolybdenum, basalt, phosphorite, and dolomite flour.
This measure is intended to ensure stable and equitable access to monopolized and highly liquid raw materials for market participants, while also allowing sellers to use modern exchange tools to determine the fair market value of their products.
