Level of monopolization of Uzbekistan’s economy is decreasing
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Structural changes in economy of Uzbekistan, in the result of which new enterprises are created and private entrepreneurship is developed, as well as new businesses enter to commodity markets, are developing competition in the country. One of the indicators of competition development is monopolization level.

In line with the system on quarterly indicators of assessment of scale of liberalization and modernization of economy, level of formation of business climate in Uzbekistan, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Demonopolization and Competition Development calculated level of monopolization of entrepreneurship and financial sustainability index for 2008-2010.

Calculation of entrepreneurship monopolization level was conducted based on statistic indicators on number of operating enterprises and number of monopoly enterprises, included to the State List of Monopoly Enterprises and the State List of Natural Monopolies.

Entrepreneurship monopolization level made up 0.47% in 2008, - 0.43% in 2009 and 0.39% in 2010, the Demonopolization Committee said. The committee added that this shows low monopolization level and decrease of monopolization level in Uzbekistan.

Entrepreneurship monopolization level was calculated as ratio of monopoly enterprises to number of operating business entities (without farm and dehkan entities).
