It was noted that the work on introduction of the digital television in line with the presidential decree “ON state programme of technical and technological transfer to digital broadcasting in Uzbekistan” is underway.

Currently the level of digital television coverage of population of Uzbekistan makes up about 68.8%. The population can watch 12 digital channels for free.

Uzbekistan is implementing a programme on transfer to digital television, which is realized in two stages – first stage in 2013-2015 and second stage in 2016-2017.

As reported earlier, the level of digital television coverage of population of Uzbekistan was 54% in 2014 and 45% in 2013.
