Legislative Chamber passes law to strengthen responsibility for road traffic violations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan reviewed a draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to Administrative Responsibility Code in connection with strengthening responsibility in road traffic security.
The draft law was developed in order to increase responsibility of road traffic participants’ adherence to corresponding rules and envisages unification and installation of concrete fines for violation of Road Traffic Rules.
The changes to the Code are directed at increasing the size of fines for violation of road traffic rules, term of withdrawal of driving license, and introduction of administrative arrest for some violations. At the same time, the amendments envisage to change order of punishing for insignificant deed and use of more light penalty.
MPs approved the main regulations of the draft law and passed it in the first reading.
