Uzbekistan 22/06/2007 Legislative Chamber meets to discuss several draft laws

The Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis (parliament) of Uzbekistan held a meeting on 21 June.

The members of the parliament approved the agenda suggested by the Kengash (Council) of the Legislative Chamber.

A member of the Committee for Industry, Construction and Trade A. Abdunazarov presented the draft law "On introduction of amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On rational use of energy" introduced for consideration in third reading. In the course of the discussion deputies expressed a number of suggestions on further improvement of the act of legislation. The Chamber passed the law with the incorporation of the suggestions made.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Legislation and Judicial Issues S. Jabbarov spoke about the draft law "On administrative procedures". After careful examination of all the provisions, the law was passed.

A member of the Committee for Labour and Social Issues Z. Botirov delivered a report on the draft law "On introduction of amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On protection of citizens’ health". The members of the Chamber revised each of the provisions of the act separately, and it was noted that further improvements and additions should be introduced to the document. At the same time, comments were made with the aim of quality improvement of the separate provisions. The Legislative Chamber decided to revise the draft law in the second reading after appropriate changes are introduced.

The deputies also reviewed the draft law "On introduction of amendments to the Article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On telecommunications" presented by a member of the Committee for Information and Communication Technologies A. Juravaev. The law was passed, reported UzReport.com
