Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 December, a phone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation, key issues of bilateral cooperation and multilateral interaction within the framework of regional organizations were discussed.
Special attention was given to the importance of continuing active and productive cooperation between the intelligence agencies of the two countries to strengthen the fight against security threats.
The press service of the Kremlin reported that during the call, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his sincere condolences regarding the tragic death of the Head of the Chemical, Radiological, and Biological Protection Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov.
It was also emphasized that Uzbekistan strongly condemns this vile terrorist act and expressed its intention to continue close cooperation between the intelligence agencies of both countries in the fight against terrorism.
