Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 December, a phone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation, the leaders discussed current issues related to further strengthening Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and allied cooperation.
The heads of state thoroughly reviewed the progress of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan in May this year. Special attention was given to the implementation of activities outlined in the "roadmap" approved by the leaders.
The results of the recent meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and bilateral negotiations held the day before in Moscow were highly praised. The need to coordinate efforts to increase mutual trade volumes, accelerate the implementation of joint projects in industries such as manufacturing, energy, transport, agriculture, and other key sectors was emphasized.
The importance of continuing active interaction between the regions and business circles of both countries was also highlighted.
The growth of cooperation in areas such as innovation, artificial intelligence, education, and healthcare was noted with satisfaction. The success of the events held as part of Uzbek Culture Days in Russia in November of this year was particularly emphasized.
The leaders also exchanged views on key issues of the international agenda and multilateral cooperation within regional organizations, including in the context of preparations for upcoming high-level meetings scheduled for the end of December.
