Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 17 July, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with the newly elected President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the recent presidential elections and wished him great success in his responsible state position.

The parties discussed issues related to the further development of Uzbek-Iranian relations and the expansion of practical cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, and transportation.

It was noted with satisfaction that in recent years, the volumes of trade turnover and cargo transportation have been increasing, the number of joint projects and enterprises has been rising, as well as the frequency of air flights.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of previously reached agreements at the highest level. The importance of promoting cooperation projects in the fields of energy, chemical industry, agriculture, food industry, and other sectors was emphasized.

Current regional agenda issues were also discussed.
