Law on further improving the public administration system in urban planning discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the 54th plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On Amendments and additions to the urban planning code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the public administration system in urban planning activities and the development of urban planning documentation for settlements" was discussed.

During the discussion of the Law, which involved an active exchange of opinions and proposals, special attention was paid to the need to create a flexible and dynamic urban planning system capable of adapting to rapidly changing realities and ensuring effective management of the development of cities and settlements.

It was noted that the Law introduces amendments to the Urban Planning Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, providing for the clarification of the name and powers of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the improvement of the system for preparing urban planning documentation for settlements through the development of the General Layout Scheme for the Development of the Territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and layout schemes for the development of the territories of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the regions.

A standard is established for issuing tasks to the customer and design organizations when developing city master plans in a simplified form.

It was noted that the changes provided by the Law will make it possible to develop more specific plans for the development of individual territories, taking into account their uniqueness and potential, by creating layout schemes for the development of the territories of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the regions.

Most importantly, the proposed changes will ensure the sustainable and balanced development of cities and settlements while maintaining economic, social, and environmental conditions for citizens.

According to the senators, this Law contributes to the creation of a more effective and transparent urban planning system in Uzbekistan, as well as the development of modern territories where every citizen can live with dignity and have a safe future.

After the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
