Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Law enforcement agencies conducted raids in Tashkent to prevent cases of religious extremism and terrorism. This was reported by the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate.

As a result of operational activities, 45 people involved in extremist radical groups were detained.

During the operational activities carried out on 7 April, 45 searches were carried out in the homes of citizens who joined extremist radical groups.

All suspects were detained and arrested.

According to the department, in the first three months of this year, 50 criminal cases were initiated in cases related to religious extremism and terrorism, and 188 administrative protocols were drawn up. Legal measures were taken against 264 people.

Citizens of the capital are advised to refrain from joining various radical groups and not to spread alien ideas through social networks.

“Always keep track of what groups on social networks your children join and what content they watch,” notes the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate.
