The Uzbek Culture Days included a series of events such as photo exhibitions, presentations of “Uzbekistan: Yesterday and Today”, a concert, and a seminar dedicated to the culture of Uzbekistan as well as a demonstration of Uzbek films. During the opening ceremony Lee Han-Bin, the vice president of Lanzhou University, noted in his speech that the ties between the two countries are becoming closer.
He said Lanzhou University pays great attention to students from Uzbekistan who will become high-calibre specialists. He went on to note that this festival is a colourful event which gives an opportunity to get closer to Uzbek culture and feel its beauty and splendour.
Professor Jing Tao, also a vice president at Lanzhou University, noted in his speech that the arrival of the Uzbek delegation in Lanzhou is indicative of their responsible attitude to their students and the serious attention they accord to cooperation with Lanzhou University. He also noted that active participation by Uzbek students and their assistance in the organization of the Uzbek Culture Days shows their love for their homeland. Jing Tao said that only through collaborative efforts can our cooperation be brought to a higher level. Close collaboration among the six SCO states have reached a new level and play an important role not only in the region but also in the whole world.
The opening part of the Uzbek Culture Days also included a photo exhibition “Uzbekistan – the Gem of the East”, which presented historical monuments, traditions and culture of Uzbekistan as well as the presentation of a film about the Fund Forum’s activities.
Students from Uzbekistan currently attending Lanzhou University participated actively in the organization of the cultural events. Specifically, the photo exhibition “Uzbekistan-China: Colours of Friendship” was prepared by Muhiddin Alimbabayev. It was followed on April 10 by a presentation of the book “My Life in Lanzhou” by Farogat Jabborova. The students from Uzbekistan had an opportunity to demonstrate their talents by performing Uzbek music works and dances.
