Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Dusan Lajovic and Filip Krajinovic gave Serbia the perfect start in its quest to reach the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Finals in November, after both posted straight sets victories against Uzbekistan’s Sanjar Fayziev and Denis Istomin respectively in Tashkent.

Lajovic, the world No. 39, recorded a 76(4) 63 victory over Fayziev in one hour and 31 minutes to put the visitors ahead.

Krajinovic followed up with a 62 64 triumph against an oddly subdued Istomin - such a stalwart of the Uzbek Davis Cup setup since his debut 14 years ago - in just one hour and one minute.
