Kyrgyzstan transfers US$2m to Uztransgaz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Kyrgyzstan has transferred US$2 million to Uztransgaz (Uzbek gas transportation) and reduced its debt for Uzbek gas to US$11 million.

Kyrgyzstan said it will pay its debt as customer payments for consumed gas started to come in.

As earlier reported, Uzbekistan requested Kyrgyzstan to pay its debt of US$19 million. On 24 September 2009, Uzbekistan cut off gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan. After the talks, the sides agreed to settle debt before 1 December 2009.
