Kyrgyzstan pays US$3m of its debt to Uztransgaz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Kyrgyzgas open joint-stock company transferred US$3 million to Uztrangaz and debt of Kyrgyzstan for Uzbek gas fell to US$8.5 million.

Kyrgyzstan plans to repay debt as soon as it receives payments from consumers for used natural gas.

The Uzbek side refused to hold negotiations on supply of gas for 2010 to Kyrgyzstan, while the Kyrgyz side will not fully repay its US$19 million debt. The sides agreed that Kyrgyzstan should repay debt by 1 December 2009.
