Kyrgyz, Uzbek security officers discuss joint anti-terror fight

Sources in the Batken Region state administration have said that the heads of the Batken regional directorate of the Kyrgyz State National Security Committee (SNSC) and the Ferghana regional directorate of the Uzbek National Security Service met in southern Kyrgyzstan, Batken, on 19 November.
The sources in the regional state administration quoted an officer from the Batken regional directorate of the SNSC as saying that the meeting discussed ways of stepping up joint measures to fight religious extremism and international terrorism, AKIpress news agency reported.
The sources in the regional state administration added that such meetings of the heads of the two countries’ regional security services were held regularly and aimed at stepping up the ensuring of security in the region with multi-million people.
