Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank has included Anglesey Food, which operates the Korzinka supermarket chain, in its regulatory sandbox. This was reported by the press service of the regulator.

This decision will allow the retailer to conduct a pilot project for issuing cash from cards at checkouts. On 28 April, the company received approval for a temporary order for the provision of this service.

The pilot project will run from 1 May to 1 November. The Central Bank plans to report the results of the experiment separately.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev authorized the experiment with cashing out money on cards by a resolution in March. According to this document, retail outlets and service establishments in Tashkent will be able to provide the service if there is a virtual cash desk.
