Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Uztekstilprom Association with a delegation of the Association of Manufacturers of Linen and Textiles, Home Textiles Daegu Gyeongbuk, Korea, headed by Chairman of the Association Lee Suk Ki. 

It is worth noting that the city of Daegu is one of the important partners for the textile industry of Uzbekistan. The Association successfully cooperates with many organizations in Daegu, the textile center of Korea.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation, in particular, increasing the export of Uzbek textile products to Korea, expanding cooperation in the production of home textiles. Also, the Uzbek side proposed the creation of joint projects in the industrial zones of Uzbekistan for further export of products to Europe and other countries of the world.

The Korean side was interested in the possibilities of attracting labor from Uzbekistan, to which it received an answer about the possibility of concluding a tripartite memorandum and developing this direction together with the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan.

Also, following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand cooperation in the following areas:

Studying the possibility of reducing customs duties (from 5% to 0%) when importing Uzbek products

Education and training for the industry at enterprises in Korea.

Certification of products to enter the Korean market

The Daegu Gyeongbuk Fabric and textile industry cooperative was founded in 1969. It is an association with 433-member textile companies.
