According to the agreement, Korean Air will lease two Ð300-600F cargo aircrafts to its Uzbek partner. Ð300-600F cargo aircrafts has has carrying capacity of 40 tonnes and fly to about 7,000 km.
The aircrafts were leased to the Uzbekistan Airways to develop cargo transportation through Navoi Airport. As earlier reported, Uzbekistan Havo Yollari and Korean Air are constructing international logistics center at Navoi Airport.
Valery Tyan, director-general of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari, said that Korean Air will deliver the second aircraft, which, in early May. He said that the aircrafts will be based in Navoi International Airport.
The joint Uzbek-South Korean project is aimed at creating a global cargo network to unite cargo routes from Asia to Europe and vise-versa through the multi-modal logistics hub of the Navoi airport.
Currently, the Uzbek airline plans carrying out cargo flights on routes to Delhi, Bangkok and Moscow, with further expansion of the geography of flights in both Asian and European directions.
