KOICA launches ToT training program for instructors of preschool educational institutions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 January 2024, KOICA Office in Uzbekistan launched the Training Program for Trainer of Teachers (ToT) training program for instructors of preschool educational institutions in Uzbekistan.

This training program, which will be held over 12 days for 35 teachers from 35 districts of Tashkent province, will help strengthen the ability of teachers to conduct independent lessons based on understanding the educational content of the game-oriented preschool education program. The program also pursues the goals of developing various skills necessary for managing lessons and imparting skills to kindergarten teacher pedagogues.

This course is provided by KOICA PMC (Dong-Eui University) preschool education experts, and the curriculum for choosing topics required in the field of pre-matric education together with local master teachers from different regions of Uzbekistan. Last but not least, one of the main goals of the program is participation of local specialists in the process of developing topics and training pedagogues who will contribute to the improvement of the quality of education of children of kindergarten age in Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by Lee Min Jeong, deputy director of KOICA Office in Uzbekistan, O. Rakhmatillayev, deputy director of the Preschool Education Agency, Professor Jeon Yun Suk, the project manager, and more than 30 participants, who gathered for the opening ceremony of the KOICA ToT program.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lee Min Jeong emphasized that this project, implemented by KOICA in Uzbekistan in the field of preschool education for the first time, will become symbolic for KOICA, and that it will be of a high level and quality. She asked all the stakeholders to work closely and join efforts for its implementation.

Within the framework of this project, along with improving the qualifications of teachers in the field of preschool education, KOICA, the Integrated Center for Training, education and Professional Development of pedagogical personnel in Tashkent, works on the construction of an innovative preschool education organization based on the Korean model. The construction works are planned to start at the beginning of this year and to be completed by October 2025.
