KOICA conducts knowledge exchange Program on education and development at Tashkent State Economic University

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 April 2025, the KOICA office in Uzbekistan organized its first Knowledge Exchange Program of the year at the Tashkent State Economic University (TSEU). The event was part of KOICA’s ongoing initiative to disseminate the knowledge and experience gained through its training programs in the Republic of Korea among local communities in Uzbekistan.

The Knowledge Exchange Program offers KOICA alumni, who have studied in Korea, an opportunity to share the knowledge and skills they have acquired and demonstrate how these can be applied to the development of Uzbekistan. The event was organized in collaboration with the KOICA Alumni Association, with support from the KOICA office in Uzbekistan.

Nurbek Kurbunov, a KOICA alumnus with a master’s degree in social economics from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), delivered a presentation on the topic “Economic Impact: Transforming Lives through Education and Cooperation.” The focus of the presentation was on social and economic development, with the content tailored to the interests of TSEU students.

More than 100 TSEU students participated in the program, showing great interest and engagement. The university also demonstrated its support for such initiatives, with key faculty members and leadership attending the event, signaling TSEU’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and advancing global education.

KOICA implements CIAT (Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow) programs for government officials and public sector specialists in Uzbekistan. These programs include both short-term and long-term courses in Korea, with more than 2,600 participants having completed their training so far. This initiative continues to contribute to the development of national potential and strengthens the cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan.
